Botanical Drawing-Let Nature Be your Teacher

Adult / Arts -
Adult Fall 2020 - Summer 2021

This course will teach you how to use plants as the subject of art with easy approaches and many visual examples. You will learn how to observe and approach subjects for drawing, creatively transfer what you see to paper, how to use elements of line, shape, and space to make a composition and layer color pencil for tonal accuracy. All drawing abilities are welcome-including beginning drawing!

Kathy J. Grundei

After teaching art for 35 years, Kathy Grundei retired so that she could spend more time with her artistic interests and family. Having taught in schools in the west suburbs of Minneapolis, retirement also meant more time in the Alexandria area where she and her husband have had a lake home over 30 years. The past four years Kathy has had a studio and gallery on County Road 42 and Three Havens Drive. She has an art degree from St. Cloud State University, MEd from Hamline University and has continued art studies through Twin City art centers, artist-teachers and mentors. Her areas of interest are watercolor, book arts, collage and mixed media.
