First LEGO League (Gr. 4-6)
Imaginative thinking and teamwork build tomorrow’s innovators! With adult Coaches to guide them, FIRST® LEGO® League teams apply science, engineering, and math concepts, plus a big dose of imagination, to develop solutions to real-world challenges. They also design, build, and program LEGO MINDSTORMS®-based robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field. Along the way, they develop critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills. Dates and times are not listed as this will be determined by the Coaches. For more information, visit https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll. Registration deadline September 25. Parent coaches are needed, we can't run the program without you!
First Tech Challenge (Gr. 7-8)
FIRST Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team. At this class, dancers will learn about technique, skills, and flexibility. During practice, a short dance will be taught for the dancers to perform at halftime of a high school football game. Attire is comfortable clothes with socks (no jeans), hair pulled back, and a water bottle.

Discovery Middle School's 8 lane, 25-yard pool is a great space for a morning workout. Adult Lap Swim is a non lifeguarded swim with key fob entrance for registered adults, 18 years old+ . Registered swimmers are issued a key fob for entrance approximately 7-10 after registration.Monday-Friday, 5:00-7:00am Closed: New Year’s Eve Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve.

Adult Recreational Pickleball League (Level 3.4 & under)

This pickleball league is for recreational players only, that are just starting out but are not proficient at all of the shots and strategies in playing the game of pickleball. Your ranking would be 3.4 and under if you have a ranking. Players will be assigned a court each night with 3 other players. Players on the assigned court will play 2 games to 11 points with each player on their court. Individual points will be kept and the player with the most points at the end of 5 weeks will be declared the Champion!

This class is for gymnasts that have passed the Intermediate Class or have been evaluated into this level. Gymnasts will work more advanced skills and progressions in tumbling, bars, balance beam and vault. Skills of emphasis are: progressions on all four events, roundoffs, back handsprings, front walkovers. Handspring on vault, kip on bars, jumps and turns on beam as well as furthering their strength, flexibility and technique

Alomere Health welcomes you to a Prenatal Class during this important time in the life of your family. This two class series will help you prepare for your new addition by answering important questions about labor and delivery, sharing what to expect at the hospital, and will give you a tour of the labor and delivery department. This course will take place at the Alomere Hospital -111 17th Ave East, Alexandria, MN. Classes will be held in their lower level Conference room. Please enter through Door 13 and you will be directed from there. Masks may be required at Alomere health. Please watch for signs.
