First LEGO League (Gr. 4-6)
Imaginative thinking and teamwork build tomorrow’s innovators! With adult Coaches to guide them, FIRST® LEGO® League teams apply science, engineering, and math concepts, plus a big dose of imagination, to develop solutions to real-world challenges. They also design, build, and program LEGO MINDSTORMS®-based robots to perform autonomous “missions” on a playing field. Along the way, they develop critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills. Dates and times are not listed as this will be determined by the Coaches. First Tech Challenge (Gr. 7-8)
FIRST Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team. ACDT Kids Dance Camp (Gr. K-8)

At this class, dancers will learn about technique, skills, and flexibility. During practice, a short dance will be taught for the dancers to perform at halftime of a high school football game. Attire is comfortable clothes with socks (no jeans), hair pulled back, and a water bottle.

This class is for gymnasts that have passed the Intermediate Class or have been evaluated into this level. Gymnasts will work more advanced skills and progressions in tumbling, bars, balance beam and vault. Skills of emphasis are: progressions on all four events, roundoffs, back handsprings, front walkovers. Handspring on vault, kip on bars, jumps and turns on beam as well as furthering their strength, flexibility and technique

Beginning Acrylic Holiday Painting (Gr 2-8)

Does your child love to paint? Are you unsure where to start with so many tutorials and materials on the market? This course is packed with the basic practical information your child needs to take their painting skills to the next level. Your child will learn about acrylic art supplies, basic acrylic techniques, and then, put those skills to use for a final holiday painting. Supplies included in the course.

Boys & Girls Basketball (Gr. 4-5)

Meet new friends and learn the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development. This recreational six week program will focus on skills and drills each session with scrimmage time built in during the last four weeks of the program. The focus is on participation and not on a high level of competition. Have fun learning the game of basketball. T-shirt included. Boys: 12:30-2:00 pm Girls: 2:00-3:00 pm

Father Daughter Dance (Ages 3-11)

Don't' be late for this very important date! Join us as we journey down the rabbit hole and create memories that will last a lifetime. Get ready for an adventure like no other with our Annual Father Daughter Dance, Wonderland style. Dads remove all distractions for one special evening that your daughter/s will cherish. If dad can't make it, no worries, Grandfathers, Uncles or any Father figures are welcome. Enjoy two hours of themed activities, dancing, professional photo op, crafts, snacks and more! Early bird registration deadline March 1. Final registration deadline April 3. * Two options for registering, pick the couple option first and then if you have an additional daughter, pick that option second. Little Leapers will focus on taking turns, building balance and strength, listening skills, learning of basic gymnastics shapes like tuck, straddle, pike and lunge. Our classes will run with a variety of themes and offer lots of opportunities for fun and growth. This class is geared toward ages 2 and 3 year old's and must be potty trained. Class is 40 minutes in length.

This fun early childhood classes will focus on taking turns, building balance and strength, listening skills, learning of basic gymnastics shapes like tuck, straddle, pike and lunge. An instructor will guide Parent and Child through stations and obstacle courses. This is a program for children 16 months or older (up to 3.5 years) accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 18 years old. This class is 30 minutes.

Private Music/Drawing Lessons (Gr. 3-Adults)

Steve Deitz, Vocal Music Instructor at Alexandria Area High School will be teaching private lessons. In addition to being a professional voice teacher/choir director, Steve has been playing and teaching guitar for 30+ years. Experience includes playing in a band, studying classical guitar, and studying jazz theory at the master's level. Steve has an extensive background in the visual arts. His cartoons and illustrations have appeared in several noted local and national publications. Private lessons include: Guitar Voice Electric Bass Beginning Piano Drawing Lessons are available at 30 minute increments. Please note type of private lesson and desired time on your registration form. Lesson contract will include a “make-up” lesson if student has a conflict with scheduled time.
