Planting for Spring: Fall Bulbs and Garlic

Learn how to plant spring-flowering bulbs and garlic in the fall for a beautiful and bountiful garden next year. This hands-on workshop will cover bulb selection, planting techniques, timing, soil preparation, and overwintering tips specific to Minnesota’s climate. Participants will leave with the knowledge and confidence to create vibrant spring displays and grow flavorful garlic at home.

Supplies included in registration cost:

  • Assorted spring bulbs (e.g., tulips, daffodils)
  • Garlic cloves
  • Potting soil and containers for take-home planting
  • Handouts with planting guides

Robin Trott

Robin Trott is a popular speaker, columnist, radio host, and grower; and is the University of Minnesota Extension Horticulture Educator in Douglas County. Her experience growing everything from Ageratum to Zucchini gives her an interesting perspective on gardening problems and their solutions, and her passion for teaching gardening tips and techniques guarantees an interesting session.
