Community Education's Compass School Age Childcare program is dedicated to providing a warm, relaxed and caring environment where children have the opportunity to pursue their own interests, develop friendships and grow in confidence, independence and respect for themselves and others through a variety of activities and experiences.

Registration is required and approval is based on availability per location and grade
Compass Care follows Alexandria Public School District Calendar
Non School days and 2-hr late starts are available
- Separate registration is required. Additional rates apply
New handbooks are created for each registration and are typical available online two weeks prior.

Registration Dates

School Year Compass

Opens July 1 at 9:00 AM (with the exception of PreK, which opens Feb. 11, 2025)
- For ages: PreK (must be 3 by Sept 1) - Grade 5

Summer Compass
- Opens March 1 at 9:00 AM
- For ages: PreK (must be 4 by Sept 1) - Grade 5
  - Registration is the grade your child will be going into the next school year
